N'Djamena : SOS Schools
The SOS Nursery at N’Djamena has between 75-100 children, with around 20 from the SOS village.
- The nursery is split into three groups; Older (5-6 years), Middle (4-5 years) and Young (3 -4 years). Children take part in a wide range of learning and play activities.
- Classes start in October and the end of the school year is marked by a celebration day.
The SOS Primary School at N’Djamena has between 250-300 students, with around 100 coming from the SOS village.
- Managed alongside the nursery, the school has pass rates for each year of 65% or above. Of those who sat the Primary School Certificate (CEPT), the success rate was 100%.
- As well as providing academic schooling, the school fosters relationships and activities with the local community. Due to a shortage of electricity in the area, many high school students come to study at the school in the evening.
